Daft Punk‘s Random Access Memories is loaded with notable collaborations, danceable electropop tunes, and a continuos storyline that all helped make the subtle concept album one of the best released in 2013. While records like “Get Lucky,” “Lose Yourself to Dance,” and “Doin’ it Right” are clearly more commercially focused and palatable, it was their pairing with Strokes‘ frontman Julian Casablacas that produced a sleeper hit in “Instant Crush.”

In this new video, Casablancas appears both in live and mannequin form as the scenes trade back and forth between the singer spouting his signature falsetto snarl and museum curators positioning his historic likeness across the aisle from its presumed love interest. The visuals are an oddly suitable fit and creatively convey in image the underlying and complicated story behind “Instant Crush.”
