2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominees Include N.W.A., LL Cool J, and Nirvana

None

This morning the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced its 2014 nominees, and it’s a diverse bunch. The list spans more than six generations of rock (and pop and hip-hop) history and includes both chart-toppers and pioneers in their genre. A secret ballot of over 600 voters—including past inductees, musicians, historians, critics, and music industry members—chooses who will join this year’s ranks in the lauded Hall of Fame. However, fans will also have the opportunity to contribute. Beginning today, the public can visit Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Rolling Stone, and USA Today to cast a vote. This poll closes December 10, and the top five artists, chosen by the public, will constitute a “fans ballot” that will be tallied with the rest. The 29th Annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place in April of 2014 in New York City and will air on HBO the following month.
