It’s always exciting to have Nguzunguzu back. The L.A. duo are prepping a new EP for Fade To Mind, and “Mecha” is the first track we’ve heard from the new material. It’s hard to define Nguzu’s sound, but with its skittering, booming drums and ominous synth work this definitely fits the bill. They operate in a visceral, dread-filled space, making music that could score a horror movie set in the club, circa 2047. It’s great. Skycell is due out November 5th, and will include six more tracks that hopefully hit as hard as this one.
