Miley Cyrus Speaks on the VMAs, Twerking YouTube Girl Catches on Fire

We see a lot of really random shit every week. Deciding what to post and what to ignore is a constant balancing act that requires much skill, judgment, and discretion. Sometimes it depends on how drunk we are or how trollish we're feeling. Instead of simply letting these things pass us by, we decided to keep track of them and gather them all together for this post, which we'll do weekly. These are the kinds of things P&P writers email each other like, "ROFL omg WOW." Welcome to the party.

2. Neil Young was stuck in the Sierra Desert after his LincVolt broke down

When Neil Young isn't busy being a living rock legend, he's busy spreading the word about clean energy and sustainability. Recently, Young attempted to bring awareness about the issue by driving across country in his million dollar LincVolt, a Lincoln that is propelled by an electric motor. During his trip however, this LincVolt started having mechanical problems and it broke down, stranding the musician in the middle of the Sierra Desert. Yes, a million dollar electric car and Neil Young were lost in the Sierra Desert, apparently without a working cellphone. Luckily, police officers passed by, saved Young and helped him get back on the road. Now, I really have no idea about any sort of electric cars or sustainability things, but here's just a general life suggestion: how about spend a little less on the car, and instead, spring for a phone that actually works? I know, it's a little out there but let's just chew on it, think it over, see how it plays out.

4. 2 Chainz takes three full minutes to explain his "B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time" album cover

Just when you think you've figured 2 Chainz out, he goes, "tsk tsk tsk, not so fast" and wows you all over again. While stopping by Power 106 FM, the rapper was asked to explain the artwork behind his B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time cover. The cover is just this:

Now, 2 Chainz could've just said, "You know, two gold chains because that's my style and it's like a symbol associated with me, 2 Chainz." But no. Instead the rapper took almost three and a half minutes to explain the thought process behind the cover. Three damn minutes!

The best part though, is during his response 2 Chainz discusses how Kanye West actually made the artwork, and states, "What's it called? Writing on a face account? Oh, like Photoshop. He did some. I didn't know you could like erase on the computer, with this like computer eraser." HOLD ON 2 CHAINZ. You mean to tell me that you don't know the difference between Facebook (aka face account) and Photoshop, and you didn't know you could erase on a computer? Wait, 2 Chainz—are you my Dad? But then again, we can't really blame you. While we were busy learning the basics about technology you were off mastering this, so we all had our tasks to conquer:

7. This is the worst twerk fail of all time, hands down

I had one thought about this video when I first saw it. Luckily, someone else felt the same:

10. That time Harrison Ford hung out with Raekwon

Okay, okay so we may be a little late on this picture that Raekwon shared on his Twitter last month, but honestly WHO CARES. It's Harrison Ford throwin up the Wu-Tang sign with Raekwon. Harrison Ford! Raekwon! Harrison Ford + Wu-Tang Symbol + Raekwon = LOL 4life. I mean, what were they talking about? Was Raekwon asking to be in the next Star Wars movie? Did they exchange light saber tips? Did Harrison Ford ask him if having both ears pierced was "too much?" Nobody knows. But I do know, that the only way this picture could be better is if Chewbacca was there. Like, Han Solo was a hottie and obviously Luke was the hero, but Chewy? Chewy was the damn star. Chewy, if I ever meet a member of Wu-Tang, I'll be sure to call you.

12. Afrojack wants to perform in outer space

Apparently musicians have a thing for traveling to outer space because like Lance Bass before him, Afrojack now wants to perform in space. According to Billboard, the DJ wants to not only partake on a galactic voyage, but he also wants to bring fans along with him for a one of a kind show. Look Afrojack, this is a really nice gesture but I've been through this before. When Lance was training to travel to outer space, he was all like, "Hey yea, I'll bring you." Then bam, out of nowhere the trip was called off and I was left alone, on Earth and with one spacesuit that I could only pull off for one Halloween, maybe two TOPS. So how about we just think this through before we start making promises we don't know we can keep, okay?

14. Miley Cyrus finally speaks on her VMA performance

Ever since the "Twerk heard-round-the-world" a few weeks ago at the MTV VMAs, pop culture has been obsessed with trying to deconstruct Miley Cyrus, in an attempt to figure what made her choose to put on such a controversial performance. And since then we've had to subside on our own theories, because Miley had kept relatively quiet about the whole situation. However, now we finally get a peak into her thoughts on the matter, albeit a very tiny one, as the singer sat down with MTV to discuss her performance.

"How many times have we seen this play out in pop music? Madonna's done it, Britney's done it. Anyone that performs, that's what you're looking for. You wanna make history," she stated. "You're thinking about it more than I thought about it when I did it." Whoa, whoa, whoa Miley. I mean, how do we not think about it? You and your foam finger were literally shoved in our faces. This image will haunt us until the end of time:

Oh whoops, wait. That's not you. Wait, is that...Steve? From Blues Clues? WTF. Miley, you're excused this is WAY scarier.

16. Timbaland freestyles with his daughter

Timbaland took some time out of his busy schedule to record with a new rising star... his daughter. Over the weekend, Tim shared this video of him and his daughter, Reign, in which he beatboxes for her to freestyle over, and she nails it. She tackles tough subjects like what her name is and getting her hair done. And if you know anything about making hits, it's always a safe bet to go with a topic people know and respect, like getting your hair done. Clearly, Reign is well on her way to becoming a professional and I can't wait to hear her other hits, "Picking Out My Clothes" and "Getting My Nails Done" soon.

19. A man interviewing at Currys was forced to dance to Daft Punk

Imagine you're walking into a job interview. You have your best suit on, your resume printed, your brain buzzing with thoroughly researched facts about the company. You're feeling good, confident, ready for whatever questions the interviewer has. Then you sit down and the first thing the person your meeting with says isn't "Tell me about your job experiences" or "What makes you qualified for this?" but instead, "Hi, we'd like you to dance to this Daft Punk song." That's exactly what happened to a recent university graduate in England, who applied for a job at retail store Currys only to find out his interview was a dance-off to Daft Punk's "Around the World" between him and the seven other applicants.

Dude was pissed, and I have NO idea why. I mean, how great of an interview is this? No stupid questions about what your strengths and weaknesses are or what you'd bring to the company, just getting straight to the essentials of what makes someone a worthy employee—quality dance moves. He didn't move forward in the process, but I don't feel bad for him at all because he clearly has no idea what he's doing with his life. Rule #8 of being a human being: no matter what situation you're walking into, make sure you know exactly what kind of dance moves are applicable and when it's appropriate to break them out. This guy didn't know that but you know who did? This kid:

21. Earl Sweatshirt imagines Drake in "leather pants with some tight-ass shoes on"

After downplaying recent events, like the release of his new album Doris and opening for Eminem, MTV wanted to know: just what was Earl Sweatshirt excited about? "Drake," the young rapper answered. "I think about him in some fucking leather pants with some tight ass shoes on and like some sort of soft material shirt with like a funky collar on. Maybe it has like three buttons and it's like doing some wild shit."

Meanwhile, Drake's like:
