Willis Earl Beal Issues a Response Song to Lana Del Rey's Surfaced "Black Beauty" Track

Last week a Lana Del Rey track called “Black Beauty” surfaced online, and was met with positive reception from a number of blogs. Now, the song has been pulled, but its brief existence was enough to evoke a response from one of Lana’s unlikely listeners—Willis Earl Beal. Beal was so moved by the track that he wrote a response to it, and made no attempt to position it as anything but that by naming it “Black Beauty (A Response To Lana Del Rey From Willis Earl Beal).”

The song is much more pop-oriented than a typical sound from Willis and samples what sounds Lana’s vocals in the background, although that hasn’t been confirmed. The track isn’t slated to be on Beal’s sophomore album Nobody knows., which is out on September 10 via XL. Listen to his interesting, ethereal response to LDR below, who knows, maybe she’ll fire back with her own response track. Also check out Beal’s two new tracks, “Too Dry to Cry” and “Everything unwinds.
