Stanley Young is the name of an unemployed single father who recently became homeless after a fire destroyed his apartment two weeks ago. Young and his family are now living in a hotel, but are quickly running out of money to do so. Nas caught wind of this story and decided to step in and do something. The rapper used a Crowdtilt page to raise money for Young's family. Setting out with a goal of $50,000 Nas has already amassed upwards of $56,000 and with 8 days left, it's an amount that's sure to continue to climb.
As for some reasoning behind his grand gesture, Nas wrote on his page
"I am also a single father, and we don’t get enough credit in this country. I believe and hope that we should all, as a community, come together to help our fellow American men and women when they need us in desperate situations like this."

I don't know, I could be alone on this but I'm pretty sure there's a better cover Cookie Monster could have sung that didn't involve the lyrics, "When me lose control/When me on the brink/Need to just calm down/Me need to stop and think."
