It’s not every day they French classicist Erik Satie gets chopped and screwed into an ethereal hip-hop instrumental. But 20-year-old Parisian producer stwo must have heard “Trois Gymnopedies” and decided, correctly, that that shit could bang. So he brought on fellow French producer Fitzroy and made a little magic. “Money Tree$” vibes real nice, looping a sub-bass vocal sample over some lighter fare — chimes, a chorus of “ooos” and trilled hi-hats all create an atmosphere of peace and calm until the song takes a nasty-nice trap detour halfway through.
