Cecil Frena, who we know as Born Gold, has written some pretty great pop songs. Grimes, who knows a thing or two about making great pop, says of “Hunger,” his newest song: “it might be one of the best pop songs he’s written.” With his Canadian friends (like Grimes and Purity Ring), Born Gold has been meshing electronic production with catchy melodies and an experimental approach. Basically, he takes irresistible pop songs to weird places, and the results are wonderful.
