50 Cent has reportedly been charged with domestic violence after an incident that took place on June 23 in a condo in California. According to the report, 50 kicked down a bathroom door to get to the victim, the mother of one of his children, before kicking and injuring her. The report also claims that he broke furniture, a television, and a lamp before fleeing the scene prior to any police involvement.
He’s allegedly being charged with one count of domestic violence (a misdemeanor), and four counts of vandalism. If convicted, he could face up to five years in jail and tens of thousands of dollars in fines. He’s due in court on July 22.
TMZ believes that the accuser is Daphne Joy, a model who 50 dated for three years. There were rumors that the couple had a baby, but it was never publicly confirmed. An L.A. City Attorney apparently broke the news by stating that 50 and the victim had a child in common, and Shaniqua Tompkins, the mother of 50’s other child, has confirmed that she was not involved in this incident.
