R. Kelly is starting to make a habit out of these bizarrely awesome, surprise guest performances: first was his duet with Phoenix at Coachella, and now we get him joining Jim James and Billy Idol during James’ Superjam at Bonnaroo. After he finished headlining his own set, R. Kelly headed directly over to the Superjam, where he jumped on stage to sing Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come.” Idol followed that up by singing a cover of T. Rex’s “Bang a Gong (Get It On).” James’ Superjam also included performances by Hall & Oates’ John Oates and Alabama Shakes’ lead singer Brittany Howard. Check out footage of the show above and below.
