Some might argue that chillwave is dead. Washed Out would beg to differ. The genre-pioneering artist is back with a bevy of new goods for fans of his spaced out, hypnotic sound. On August 13 Ernest Greene will release his sophomore studio album, Paracosm, via Sub Pop here in the U.S. The new effort reportedly features 50 different instruments, plus samples, and was produced by previous collaborator Ben Allen (Animal Collective, Deerhunter, Gnarls Barkley) who also oversaw the work behind Within Without.
Artwork for the forthcoming album is displayed above. Directly below you can dig into the summer-ready first single, “It All Feels Right,” via a lyric video directed by Mad Decent affiliate Ferry Gouw. There’s a complete tracklist and set of festival/tour dates to peruse below as well. Grab your shades, board shorts and flip flops: it’s time to chill out.
