With a lot of the electronically shaped minimalist music of the moment, vocals seem to fall into a more restrained type of delivery. As London duo Whilk and Misky’s “Darklands” starts off, you expect the same, then a little before the three-minute mark, the belting starts. Combined with the deep house backdrop, it’s an interesting merger of styles and for a seven minute song with this much repetition, it’s one of the most captivating things we’ve heard in a while.
