“Twisted” is the lead single from an EP to be released later this year by Australian producer/singer/multi-instrumentalist Marc Zito, who goes by the name Fractures. The song took off on SoundCloud, getting over 80,000 plays and what looks like nothing but positive reactions from listeners. One play and it’s easy to see why.
The track is warm but stirs things up with emotive vocals and a few extra layers of production at all the right moments, moving back and forth between restraint and the breaking point. While club-friendly electronic music is stealing the headlines, there is a swarm of more understated, minimalist electronic artists quietly veering off in a very different direction.
