We’ve been following Mount Kimbie as they continue to cobble together a solid collection of sounds and collaborators, and today saw a big piece of the puzzle come together: NPR’s First Listen featured Dominic Maker and Kai Campos previewing their upcoming album Cold Spring, Fault Less Youth in full. The album’s defining features are two tracks with King Krule and the band’s gravitation away from their digital comfort zone, towards live instruments and voice. The patches and syncopations that made their debut Crooks & Lovers so exciting are still there, but there’s a human element that adds an edge throughout. Stream the album here.

In related news, Mount Kimbie continue their bow in the Boiler Room tonight. The live set is called Mount Kimbie and Friends, and it’s streaming now.
