Tove Lo is what I imagine Ke$ha could have been if she wasn’t awful. The Swedish beauty has some good buzz building around her including a large co-sign via Twitter from fellow indie-pop darling Marina & The Diamonds. The video for her second release “Habits” is a beautiful mess. Tove belts out that in order to forget she misses her ex she has to be continuously high as she prances around a lavish dinner party, gets champagne poured on her, and aggressively makes out with, well, everyone. The beat pulses, her voice is solid, and the lyrics are definitely going to get stuck in your head, whether you want them to or not. If “Habits” is any indication of what’s in store from Tove Lo, this is the first of many things we will see from the newcomer.
