One of our favorite bands of 2013, Wampire, are back with their second single. “Spirit Forest” elaborates along the same themes as “The Hearse” and helps indicate why this group is on our Best New Artists of February. This track feels a little sleeker, a little slower and sexier—but that same bassline runs through it fringed with guitar solos and flanked with signature synthesizer.
Coming off a successful sold-out show at Bowery Ballroom last night alongside Foxygen and Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Wampire are well-situated to have a very successful year. Stream the track below and look for their debut record Curiosity out on May 14.
