1. She's a big fan of K-pop music
K-pop, or Korean pop music, is highly produced pretty boy and girl bands with carefully choreographed dance moves and infectious hooks. And it's something that Grimes draws inspiration from.
Grimes says: "I would use weird sounds so it wasn’t even like I was speaking English. The aesthetic of how it sounds is way more important to me than the actual meaning. When I first heard K-pop I was like, 'Aha it sounds like Grimes.'" And after spending an hour watching this popular K-pop video, it's pretty easy to see her fascination.
