Premiere: Stream Marika Hackman's Mini-Album "That Iron Taste"

1.

After hearing “Retina Television” and “I’ll Borrow Time,” we’re still trying to wrap our heads around London singer Marika Hackman. It’s not easy, but the difficulty of this task is a testament to what makes her such an intriguing new artist.

Marika employs a folk-pop sensibility that makes her music instantly accessible, but there are quirky elements at play and striking production choices that range from hauntingly minimal to playfully troublesome.

With a full-length album coming this year as part of a collaboration with Charlie Andrew, we’re looking forward to getting to know Marika better. For now, we’re going to put That Iron Taste on repeat and let this enthralling music sink in.

The mini-album is available now on iTunes.
