Today’s non sequitur news comes straight from HOVA’s own Life + Times, as Roc Nation has signed Australian pop megastar, Kylie Minogue.
Wait. What?
Why is Jay-Z signing Kylie Minogue? No doubt she’s a worldwide superstar, but she doesn’t necessarily fit the mold of a Roc Nation artist. Unless we’re talking about the potential for money-making, in which case Kylie’s massive catalogue of hits could translate to some serious cash for streaming rights (not to mention all the tours that Ms. Minogue goes on). But that all depends on whether or not streaming rights for past hits are included in the deal. Or maybe Jay’s gonna have Kylie sing all his hooks now or bank on her success internationally. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
