Even years after his death, there is no less excitement surrounding a J Dilla release. The prolific artist may be best known for his production, but on The Diary, an album Dilla made in the early 2000s and never released, he gets on the mic over production from Madlib, Nottz, Pete Rock, House Shows, and others.

“Anthem” is one of two tracks Dilla produced himself, and will be paired with “Trucks” for a 12″ vinyl due April 15. Enjoy the no-frills, organic bounce of “Anthem” below, and look for The Diary this spring.
