Wolf Alice - "White Leather"

1.

We’ve only heard two Wolf Alice songs, and they’re already high on our list of artists to look out for. At this point, we’d forgive the band for a mediocre b-side to their debut single. Luckily, we don’t have to because “White Leather” is fucking great. It’s the b-side to “Fluffy,” and it reveals a more restrained, moody approach that has been hinted at in Ellie Rowsell’s voice in the first two songs, remaining cool and composed even when surrounded by a storm of distorted guitars and crashing drums. This time there is no storm, and Ellie sounds better than ever.

This London band is three for three, and while the single will be out digitally and on vinyl on February 11th via Chess Club Records, we’re already impatiently waiting for an album.
