After signing with Virgin records in 1996, French electronic duo Daft Punk have announced that they are leaving the label and have inked a new deal with Columbia Records. They will team up with the label to release their fourth studio album, which according to French newspaper Le Parisien, will arrive as soon as this spring. While details on the upcoming record are sparse, NME is reporting that Chic frontman Nile Rodgers, songwriter Paul Williams, Animal Collective’s Panda Bear, Feist collaborator Chilly Gonzales, and disco legend Giorgio Moroder have all contributed to the LP. This new record will mark the outfit’s first proper album since 2005’s Human After All.
