Kastle has been sneakily making his way onto our radar for a while now. The American bass music producer has been dropping off great, understated edits and originals for well over a year now to the point where I found myself excited for a new Kastle track before I even had any information on the guy at all. Today, we’re premiering his latest remix – a slow building envisioning of the infectious synth-pop “Cut It Out,” by indie pop trio Kitten.
The combination of a subtle bass music producer with a mainstream-savvy indie band is an unusual one, but it works extremely well here. The full-throttle immediacy of the original is traded in for swirling synths, pitch-bending samples and a lot more space, and by the climax of the song I can guarantee you’ll be nodding your head. You can check out the original track (it’s a lot of fun) at Kitten’s website and catch them on tour this summer – dates below.
