Following his announcement of new album Beams (due out 7/28), Matthew Dear released the single “Her Fantasy” yesterday along with the b-side “Crimewaves” – available for your listening pleasure below. At first, “Crimewaves” let me down as it wasn’t a cover of the Crystal Castles track, but my mood was quickly changed when I realized it is what we have to come to love from Mr. Dear: dance-pop electronic music flavored with his distinct vocals and short synth stabs that populate the tune and add to its upbeat attitude.
