The music business isn’t known for giving handouts or doing any favors. It’s a cutthroat industry high on ego and low and empathy. Talent comes and goes, often in the blink of an eye, and in an endless sea of young aspiring nobodies, it takes an enhanced ability and level of drive to find success. While OnCue could easily be boxed into the whole college rap scene based on his age alone, it’s the hunger and passion for accomplishment so clearly evident in his music that helps separate him from the crowd. “Rich Kid” speaks directly to the grind behind chasing the ultimate dream and that desire to go from humble, broke beginnings to platinum-record endings.
