Unicorn Kid is the rare kind of artist whose music can be played next to images of graffiti urging the reader to “DIE LIVING” and not feel ironic or contrived. His hyper-euphoric mix of 8-bit sounds, rave synths and piano stabs is the rare kind of music that’s so impossibly happy and unconcerned with being anything other than the delivery of a high that it can totally work with over the top statements because it is, at its core, over the top. The video for “Pure Space” is what you’d expect from listening to the music; an ecstasy trip down of bright colors to subway stations and aquariums and a reminder for everyone to be friends with each other, blow bubbles and die living.
