The Internet is good for a lot of things, but instead of evolving into the perfect tool to better our lives and progress the human race, it’s morphed into a black hole of weird, funny, and severely random distractions. Usually, you don’t want to get too involved with this kind of stuff. You look at it, have a laugh, maybe share it with a friend. Any deeper than that and you’re entering into some strange territory, and you could soon find yourself living a second life inside some weird forum full of maladjusted people who eat fish heads and can’t communicate human feelings without emoticons.
When I saw this punk rock goat on Buzzfeed, it made me laugh. It’s not particularly funny, not in the typical way. It’s just… well, just look at that goat. Lol, what’s that goat doing there? This time, instead of sharing the goat pics and leaving it at that, I did some research. The band performing with the goat was Wormrot, a grindcore group from Singapore, so I got in touch with their manager and asked about that fucking goat.
“I took all the pictures of Wormrot,” said their manager Azean Rot. “Actually, the goat is a pet of some punks. It was taken in a farm in France where we played last year. The goat is very tame and followed us around like it is a dog. When it was Wormrot’s turn to play, the goat suddenly went in front of the crowd and watched them play the whole set. It was just chilling around at the corner when other bands were playing. Since it was at the front, I thought why not take some photos of the goat while the boys were playing. It was really funny and everyone had a good laugh after that. I think the goat’s name is Lulu if I’m not mistaken, but I could be wrong. You would have never believed how tame the goat is. When we first arrived at the venue, the goat went up to us and rubbed its head against our hands.”
“Are you guys planning on incorporating a goat into other shows, or was it a one-time thing,” I asked.
“Of course it is a one time thing! The goat just happened to be there. We cant make animals sit in a show. It’s cruel ’cause affects their ears hahaha. I doubt you can find an animal who truly listens to punk/metal, minus the goat, ’cause she’s a punk. Haha.”
