Stream The Debut Album From Alabama Shakes, See New Video For "Hold On"

1.

Mark my words, Alabama Shakes‘ debut album Boys & Girls will go down as one of the best released in 2012. I’m calling it now, publicly. No backing down, nowhere to hide. If I’m wrong come year-end “best of” lists then you can kick me in the shins. But I won’t be.

After executing a wildly impressive SXSW showcase performance in Austin last month, the buzz and hype surrounding lead singer Brittany Howard and her four-piece outfit from Alabama is building at an exponential pace. Now with anticipation for the release of their debut album at an all-time high, here are two new gas-soaked logs to throw on the fire. First we have a video for the album’s lead single “Hold On”. It’s a simple yet extremely effective opening tune that accurately demonstrates the power and energy that can be found in the remaining nine tracks on Boys & Girls. Once you wet your whistle with that gem, you’re going want to head on over to NPR’s First Listen to steam the new album in its entirety. Enjoy it there until its official release next Tuesday, April 10th (pre-order). Be sure to keep up with the group on their Facebook page for tour dates and other related info.
