If you attended SXSW this year, then you might’ve caught Adam Bainbridge’s act. Performing under the alias Kindness, the UK-based singer songwriter seems to know a thing or two about chillwave dance music. Your lack of familiarity with this sort of sound may be quelled through “House,” a slow, velvety tune with the soft keys of the piano as its backbone.
As the song progresses and electronic elements are introduced, Bainbridge’s vocals crescendo into a choir, and together, smoothly blends in with the instruments for a luxurious effect. Kindness’s LP World, You Need A Change Of Mind hasn’t quite reached North America yet, but “House” will hold you over until it arrives.
