According to Astronautalis, a Minneapolis-based rapper, he’s teamed up with Justin Vernon of Bon Iver fame, as well as S. Carey and Ryan Olsen of Gayngs. I’ve always been a big fan of what I’ve heard from Astronautalis, and this could shape into a very cool project. Apparently the group has the LP already completed, and want to get it released and onto touring as quickly as possible. As for what the output might sound like, the only word we’ve got so far is from Astro’s recent interview with City Pages in which he says “it will only sound like a hip-hop record to a certain degree.” If you haven’t heard of Astronautalis before, stream a personal favorite from him below.
