Courtney Love Is Not Happy With The Muppets' Cover Of "Smells Like Teen Spirit"

1.

According to TMZ, Courtney Love isn’t a fan of Kermit and his puppet friends’ cover of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” She claims that she has the power to approve or deny the use of any Nirvana material for commercial purposes, and she definitely did not give permission for The Muppets movie to use Nirvana’s music.

On the flip side, Courtney apparently sold half her rights to Primary Wave, who has the exclusive right to distribute Nirvana’s music. Not only did they approve the use of the song, but surviving members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic also gave it the OK, and Dave is actually in the movie. So Courtney really doesn’t have much of an argument here, but also, the cover sucks. Everyone loses!
