Inspired and the Sleep call themselves “lo-fi lifeguard pop out of San Diego.” It’s not your typical genre label, but it speaks volumes. The tracks are built around live loops and “room sounds” and the lyrics were all written while frontman (he calls himself “The Eyelid Kid”) sat in his lifeguard tower looking out on the ocean.
