A little while back, P&P interviewed the lovable (and I say this because I’m pretty sure she’s on Confusion’s list of hot indie girls) budding Detroit-based pop artist Rai Knight, who had then recently released her mixtape, Self Portrait. Knight is now preparing to release her second mixtape, which will channel a more lo-fi feel, “like discovering a Billie Holiday album for the first time.”
True to her word, “Moon Struck” does exactly this as Rai Knight’s soft and playful voice accompanies a strolling acoustic bass and hip-hop inspired beat. It’s much more low-key than her more pop-heavy songs, but it works well.
