The video for The Rapture‘s “Sail Away,” off their latest album In The Grace Of Your Love is pretty quirky. It features the group blowing into big seashells while frontman Luke Jenner battles a magical plastic bag. When listening to the lyrics of this song, it sounds like it could be some kind of love song, but the video hints at something else.
The symbolism here isn’t entirely clear, but seems like it could be about the highs and lows of drugs? A magical little bag takes on a life of its own, bringing Luke on a joyful ride and then leaving him laid out on the street. Apparently an extended version will eventually get released, so maybe we’ll figure it out then. Check it out and let me know what you think, if you care.
