Premiere: Starlight Girls - "Wasteland"

1.

So far we’ve only heard two songs from Brooklyn’s Starlight Girls, but that’s reason enough to be excited. They’ve got a stylish retro rock sound, but it’s the melodies that make these songs easy to fall in love with. The vocals are light as a feather, but just sharp enough to cut through the mischievous backdrop, and while a lot of the noise coming out of Brooklyn has a nonchalant steadiness about it, Starlight Girls mix it up with a touch of theatricalism. It’s worth getting excited about.

Here’s one last track from their EP, coming January 1st. Their US tour starts December 27th, and they’ve got a single produced by Xiu Xiu in the works. You can find more info on them here. Keep an eye out for these girls.
