EMA‘s Past Life Martyred Saints is one of my favorite albums of the year. She’s great. Intense, but great. A physical release of the single “Marked” is on its way, and comes with the, until now, unreleased b-side “Angelo.” The sound is classic EMA: noisy, emotional, blunt. An odd feature from the rapper Mzgorjis surfaces as well, and totally works. But classic EMA is really all I want from her at this point, and some rapping doesn’t hurt.
