I’ve been waiting for some new Okkervil River for a while now, and when I heard them perform their first single from I Am Very Far, their new album out May 10th, it put me in an Okkervil River mood. Then this happened. It’s not bad at all, but the slowly building song just seems to keep on trudging on, whittling away at my already microscopic attention span. Then of course is the issue of mermaids. I thought we hit a low with America’s obsession with vampires. If mermaids become the next big trend, I’m moving to Sweden and living in seclusion.
I’m going to give this a few more tries, but the first single, “Wake and Be Fine” is much more easy for me to get into. Credit to WAWSTSF.
