Jamie xx, producer extraordinaire behind the sounds of The xx, is into some interesting stuff. His newest project, remixing 13 of the 15 tracks on Gil Scott-Heron’s 2010 record “I’m New Here” has to be one of the most innovative concepts I’ve seen in a long time and a pairing I can’t wait to hear. Both artists are genius, but on sides of the musical spectrum so far apart this news literally floored me. The first single(?) was just released with an accompanying video; it’s Jamie xx’s take on “NY Is Killing Me” and it sounds pretty fresh.
