As a buddy of Cudi, I’ve always thought Chip Tha Ripper was destined to play the role of that half-famous, slightly less cool dude lurking in the shadows. His mixtape The Cleveland Show was surprisingly dope (“Movie” was my shit) and the more I see of him, the more I realize that Chip’s got his own style and has the potential to stand out with or without his famous partner. While Cudi is a zig-zagging risk taker, Chip is more of a laid back straight shooter, but he’s got a subtle way with words that I’m starting to pick up on. This one is a chorusless, somber cut over a beat from producer 6th Sense, and I dig it. Thanks to Lowkey.
