I sit here listening to this Paramore album Brand New Eyes and trying to figure out why so many people are calling it “great”. Not just Paramore fans, but people who, a couple years ago wouldn’t have even mentioned a new Paramore song.
It could be the young band has perfected it’s highly polished, contagiously catchy pop rock with an edge. It could be the couple of acoustic tracks, like “Misguided Ghosts” that provide a surprising break from what most people know Paramore to be. I don’t know. I’m still trying to figure it out. On first listen, it sounds like what I would expect of Paramore, but some people are finding greatness in here, so you should check out a couple tracks. Brand New Eyes comes out at the end of the month.
