Marina and the Diamonds just put out a new song called “The Outsider” which will be on their upcoming, ever-elusive (as Marina calls it) album. Ever since I’ve heard “Obsessions”, I’ve been a huge fan of Marina’s music. It’s a healthy mix of catchy pop and artistic strangetree (I just made that word up). Instead of singing about being mad at her ex-boyfriend or how she’s a strong, sexy woman, Marina’s lyrics sound more comparable to an introverted Radiohead song. Plus, I think I’m falling in love with that trembling voice. I can’t help it, when female pop singers say “fucking” I get excited in my pants. (Check the 1:28 mark).
