Ottawa rapper TwoTiime has just dropped his latest single, “Off Some.” After releasing the track yesterday, he has just shared the accompanying music video.

On the song’s meaning, TwoTiime has kept it short and sweet:  “This single is about letting the haters know I’m here to stay.”

“When I made this record, I wanted to jump out the box and try something different to showcase my versatility. This definitely won’t be the only time you’ll see me switch it up for y’all,” he says.

Directed by SIP Entertainment, the music video was shot in a rural area outside of Ottawa, TwoTiime’s hometown. His come-up in 2020 with single “Hood Cry” happened just as the city mourned the loss of his close friend, rapper FTG Metro. “Hood Cry” earned him his first major award, SOCAN Foundation’s 2021 Young Canadian Songwriter’s Award.

“Getting recognized for my work is probably one of the best feelings,” TwoTiime said about the award. “The fact that I was able to take all my people’s suffering and agony and capture something heartfelt and wholesome. It brought out true emotion and authenticity.”

“Off Some” follows last year’s singles “Juice” and “Did a Lot”—both released by WorldStarHipHop, making him the first Canadian artist to be signed to their distribution. TwoTiime was also one of our picks for Canadian musicians to watch out for in 2022.
