Tierra Whack has transported us back to her world in her latest song and video for “Link.”

Directed by Cat Solen, the visual shows Whack on a planet, unlike Earth, surrounded by what appears to be aliens. She works with the creatures to build a rocket out of Legos, a nod to her partnership with the Lego Group for its Lego Rebuild the World campaign.

Whack met with a group of children ages six to nine, who helped inspire the video; together, they built a number of objects using Lego bricks. “I was so excited to work with kids because their energy is fun, exhilarating, never-ending, and full of surprises,” Whack said in a statement, regarding the creative process. “I really trusted them, and I knew they were going to come up with something great. What I loved most about the process was being able to partner with such an iconic company like the LEGO Group because we could make anything happen!”

“Link” is Whack’s first release of the year, following her 2020 songs “Dora,” “Feel Good,” and “Peppers and Onions.”

Whack joins the Lego Rebuild the World campaign alongside actor Billy Porter, artist Alexa Meade, and architect Sir David Adjaye OBE for a series of films that “explore the importance of creative play to show how this inspires kids to express their individual creativity and develop vital skills such as self-confidence, resilience, and collaboration,” according to a press release.
