Singer and Atlantic Records signee Tai’Aysha has unleashed a visual to her new single “One Night Ting” featuring Saweetie.
The Cameron Dean-directed music video finds both artists grooving away to a rhythmic backdrop from Di Genius that features a sample of Shabba Ranks’ “Ting-a-Ling” as they highlight their fun late-night encounters. While Saweetie plays off this narrative, she also sprinkles in a few closing lines about her recent success.
“Back-to-back years on the Forbes list/Bout the quick cash I ain’t never seen a mortgage/Always overseas like a bitch got deported,” she raps.
It’s true that Saweetie has experienced a massive amount of success in the past year. In 2021, she expanded her multiple business ventures outside of music, such as her Icy University educational program. In her 2021 Complex cover story, she said the networking required of her to achieve such ventures was at times viewed as flirtatious, a sentiment she’s often had to push back against.
“It’s unfortunate that having a personality that’s engaging, people can often mistake it as having a level of interest beyond the conversation,” Saweetie said. “But if I was a man, you wouldn’t have took it that way. But it just goes to show how much women have to think when they’re trying to converse with someone who they’re not interested in, but they’re having to play this game.”
She added that “it’s like having a conversation with the person in front of you and then a conversation in your head trying to make sure that I’m thinking about everything so that it’s not taken as something else.”
