Lil Wayne's recent hospitalization reportedly resulted in a doctor advising the Young Money founder to take a little time off before leaping back into his hectic schedule. However, in a new interview, his manager Cortez Bryant explains why telling Wayne to take time off doesn't always produce the desired results.

"He's good, man," Bryant said when annoyingly approached by TMZ at LAX Wednesday. Asked if reports of Wayne being "overworked" and receiving doctor's advice to take it easy for a couple weeks held any truth, Bryant noted that he's also suggested Wayne get some rest.

"I tell him that all the time but I don't think that's gonna work," Bryant said. "He's a workaholic. That's what got him to where he is now. He's in the studio all the time, trying to make music, get through this situation, and give his fans what they need."

Bryant also reiterated recent reports that Wayne's seizures are strictly related to his epilepsy, not other factors. "He's an epileptic," he said. "That's the reality of it. It's something that we know we're gonna have to deal with for the rest of his life. You know, we just make sure that you gotta pop your meds and try to force him to get some rest, but sometimes he doesn't do that, but it's not gonna hinder us or stop us."

Though TMZ ran with a headline claiming that Wayne was going to ignore doctor's orders entirely, Bryant never actually said that during their exchange. Instead, he vowed to not let Wayne's epilepsy cause an early retirement. "This might not be the last time you see Lil Wayne having a seizure," Bryant said.

Tuesday, a report surfaced claiming that Wayne's seizures in Chicago over the weekend were due to his hectic work schedule. Recently, a source claimed, Wayne had been getting minimal sleep while touring and hitting the studio. A doctor reportedly advised Wayne take the next two weeks off ahead of his return to the stage Sept. 23.
