For the past two weekends Indo, California was besieged by music fans from around the world, who came to take part in the annual musical extravaganza known as the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Expanding beyond the usual three-day format, this year's festival packed double the punch by keeping the party going for an extra weekend.
Although 2Pac's groundbreaking hologram performance with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg grabbed most of the headlines, there were plenty of other big-name performers on hand to tear up the stage: The Weeknd performed for the first time on American soil, A$AP Rocky brought out the O.G. Master P., and Childish Gambino rocked the mic with fellow up-and-comers Kendrick Lamar and Danny Brown. Some of our favorite female stars made the scene too—with Rihanna and Katy Perry taking in some of the shows from the crowd, and Harlem spitter Azealia Banks bringing her NY flavor to the Cali desert.
