First Nations hip hop duo Snotty Nose Rez Kids dropped their fifth album I’m Good, HBU?, an eight-track blitz of fiery instrumentals, confident flows, and bombastic lyrics.

The Polaris Prize shortlisted duo, composed of rappers Young D and Yung Trybez, have been teasing the album for over a month, even dropping a skit on Instagram about Young D leaving the band over a menial dispute and returning after a week of meetings.

The album comes off a three-single run that included “Damn Right,” “Trendsetter,” and the title track “I’m Good.”

Though the album packs a punch in each of its tracks, Snotty Nose Rez Kids still retain their trademark humour.

“And I usually don’t do this, but today I bought some jewelry/She asked me how I’m paying, and I told her ass to google me,” they rap in “I’m Good.”

On their Instagram page, Snotty Nose Rez Kids showed glimpses into the album’s creation process, diving into the instrumental makeup of tracks like “Paint the Town Red” and “Kids Come Up, It’s Summertime” featuring Polo Brian.

They also showed a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video for “Damn Right.”

The Snotty Nose Rez Kids have had a busy month leading up to the album's release. In early November, the duo performed at a Toronto Raptors halftime show to celebrate Indigenous Heritage Night.

They also announced a show in Toronto on Dec. 10 with The OBGMs as the opening act.
