Daniel Caesar has released the video for "Toronto 2014," one of the standout tracks from his latest album Never Enough.
Much like the title suggests, the song is an ode to nostalgia and reminiscing. It's only logical that the video follows the same theme.
It shows clips from various moments in Caesar's life, mostly depicted through grainy home footage. In between the found footage, Caesar and Mustafa sing their respective parts.
In an interview with Complex Canada back in April, Caesar discussed the creation of the album and "Toronto 2014" specifically. The song was originally meant for Mustafa's debut album When Smoke Rises.
"That song is years in the making," Caesar explained. "I wrote that song, an earlier version of it, probably 4-5 years ago and it was supposed to be on Mustafa's album When Smoke Rises. Then it didn't make the cut.
"Then I picked it up because every time I start an album I generally go back to old songs I couldn't figure out for the last album that I really love. So it's to retrace my steps. Found that one, picked it up, and we started cooking it up in Stockholm and it turned into what it is. I love that song."
