When it comes to technology, the DJ is king. Don't take the insane tour riders or Grammy wins for granted: DJs are nerds first, and when new tech hits the streets, DJs hop on early. The problem is, having the knowledge of the tech doesn't make you the best at using it.
Twitter is one such tool. Many feel that they "get" social media, but if a DJ tweets yet doesn't engage, does their account really get followed? It's all about what you do with the 140 characters you're given, and some DJs use the platform better than others. Retweeting provocative pictures, starting up interesting conversations with their followers, or showing their bugged-out personality, are all examples of how these DJs understand and utilize twitter as a tool that can work wonders for helping people understand them. If EDM is advancing towards the mainstream, you need a person to grab hold of, and these DJs know that.
A-Trak
Why?: Just an awesome human being.
A-Trak is one of those guys that many fans wish they were cool with. He truly makes taste, and isn't a douchebag about it. His wicked sense of humor and intellect can cause some interesting tweets, and he's also unafraid to weigh in on hot topics, from Chris Brown to button pushing.
Diplo
Why?: Always has an interesting viewpoint or RT.
While the "Express Yourself" video was a thing of beauty, the #ExpressYourself craze went viral due to Diplo's constant retweeting of the pictures he was being sent. Diplo's good for random retweets like that, or just pictures of whatever he's currently doing. And while he tries to curb it, Diplo can (and will) speak his mind, whether it's to defend himself or just explain his views.
Dillon Francis
Why?: He's hilarious.
If you have seen any of Dillon's YouTube videos, you know he's not afraid to show his weird sense of humor on camera. This translates perfectly to twitter, where he will engage DJs he interacts with with jokes and other bugged out commentary, as well as whatever random requests he feels like making.

Why?: NSFW excellence.
Borgore attracts women. Be them dime pieces or ding dongs, he has a huge female following, and has no qualms in asking for cleavage pics, butt shots, or whatever he's looking for (just do a search for #borwhore). His skill is engaging his audience, and whether it's out of boredom or brilliance, he will take the time to reach out and show love to those who appreciate his work.
Tommie Sunshine
Why?: Not afraid to speak his mind.
There's a reason why Tommie is asked to write thinkpieces for many organizations: he has the opinios and the verbiage to do so. Take that in a live 140 character format, and you've got Tommie openly conversing with his audience about whatever's on his mind.
Wolfgang Gartner
Why?: Awesome personality.
Wolfgang just has a hilarious way of speaking about life. Or he just gets into wild situations and will humor us with these situations, like when he was in a hotel and both rooms on the opposite sides of his had couples getting it on at the same damn time, loud enough that he could hear. (his remedy? Play some Big Pun) He's got a quick wit, and will chat with his followers just as quickly as he'll ponder Biggie lyrics.
Kaskade
Why?: Interactive, could possibly invite you to a random party.
Kaskade's the guy who threw a moving party on a flatbed truck and tweeted the info to his followers, resulting in the LAPD being called out to a theater for throwing an outdoor rave in the street. He's the guy who got so excited about the 2013 Ultra Music Festival that he's been swapping stories with his fans for the last few days. Most DJs only stick to promotion and chatting with their peers, but Kaskade's open dialogue can move mountains.
Carnage
Why?: Super humor.
We've spoken on Carnage's unique personality, and that's on full blast via his twitter. He's forever tweeting about Tiesto being his dad, and his off the wall hilarity always puts a smile on our faces. He's also good at drumming up support from his fans.
Zedd
Why?: The total package.
Zedd's great at online promo via twitter. If he's on Letterman, you're getting multiple tweets with proper info so you don't miss out. He takes the time to engage his audience with small talk, while keeping up the fun with his DJ cohorts. His personality is reflected perfectly via his twitter, and really, that's what we want to see.
