The hallowed cypher is one of rap’s proudest traditions, a chance for new and established rhymers alike to prove their mettle and keep themselves match-fit.
Keeping that spirit alive, Red Bull UK has teamed up with Unknown T to curate a series of cyphers where rising MCs can make a name for themselves under the watchful eye of the “Homerton B” hero.
The first in the series will take place at E1 tomorrow, October 12, where eight MCs will take to the stage and test their bars on a mix of BPMs, from rap to grime to drill. The whole thing will go down in front of a live audience who will decide the winner of each round based on lyrical dexterity, versatility, flow and energy.
